Denim Jeans, Their Progress Through Fashion; Still Making History

Denim jeans and attire have been associated with heavy industry to high fashion and become one of the most versatile and enduring clothing styles in fashion history. Hollywood stars like Katherine Hepburn aided denim’s progress through fashion in the 70’s. And now Savile Row tailors champion its continuing success, as they cut denim suits for some of the most famous names in the world. But what of its origins, Denim and Jeans have traveled the world.

Captured in denim the Americans invented, commercialized, stylized, or popularised, in a word, Levis, American Wild West culture. But the fabric was adopted from another continent by early Americans who created functional hard wearing work gear. At the same time they introduced a style without the aid of catwalks and drop dead handsome models.

Mr. Jacob Davis a tailor from Reno Nevada decided to put copper rivets on the corners of his denim trouser pockets to prevent them from ripping. Unable to cover the cost of patenting the idea he sought help from prosperous clothing distributor Mr. Levi Strauss. Mr. Strauss added his own style by putting the garment label on the outside rather than on the inside. Thus a new style was born.

Denim (derived from De-Nimes in France) had already been styled into bell bottom trousers and worn by Italian sailors from Genoa and given the name Geans (Jeans). These trousers had very practical applications. If a sailor went overboard he could easily slip off his trousers without his feet getting caught and thus stand a better chance of staying afloat.

The style has gone from De-Nimes, to Denim, from Genoa to Jeans, from France to America and traveled the world. Style knows no cultural or geographic boundaries. Experience the history.

Now here are a couple of style tips. With this in mind you could chose a denim shirt by King Gee (Australia), floral designer silk tie by Timothy Everest (Savile Row London), a pair of grey flannel trousers by Jaeger (England), for the feet, a pair of blue and white Converse All Stars (America), dark lightweight Harris Tweed jacket (England) and a leather belt by RM Williams (Australia) this is the gear you need for working at the coalface, functionality rules the way. It’s referred to as the lean-clean style, it’s casual by framework, loose and comfortable, but formalised enough with the introduction of neckwear. So you can get into action, throw off the jacket, roll the sleeves up, loosen the tie and get it done.

Once last thing, why not try a pair of Swarovski Crystal silver designer cufflinks, just to reflect your mood and to complement your tie.

Did you know? Robert Redford stars in the definitive film of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. Fitzgerald was a dedicated customer of Jermyn Street bespoke shirt maker Turnbull & Asser. The shirts that reduce The Great Gatsby’s socialite heroine Daisy (Mia Farrow) to tears with their beauty in the film all bear the Turnbull & Asser bespoke label.

1969 Nutters of Savile Row opens on Valentine’s Day and unleashes the Tommy Nutter/Edward Sexton style on swinging London. Backed by Cilla Black and The Beatles’ record company Apple’s executive Peter Brown, Nutters of Savile Row dresses the entire social spectrum from the Duke of Bedford and Lord Montagu to Mick and Bianca Jagger and The Beatles. Nutters is the first shop on Savile Row to pioneer ‘open windows’ and wild displays executed by Simon Doonan.

Maverick screen actress Katherine Hepburn, whose long-term lover Spencer Tracey was a customer of Huntsman, takes the extraordinary step of ordering bespoke denim jeans from her late lover’s Savile Row tailor. Hepburn’s commission foreshadows bespoke denim collections launched in 2006 by Timothy Everest and Evisu.

There is nothing like coming home from a long day of hard work at the office and slipping into something a little more comfortable. After all of your daily stresses are done, you can finally relax and just put on your favorite old pair of pajamas.

Sometimes on the weekend you dont even feel the need to get out of your pajamas. After all, you dont really need to leave the house for any reason, so why bother to change? Spending all of Saturday and Sunday in your pajamas is a great way to chill out so that you are mentally and physically refreshed when you head back to work on Monday.

But despite all of the comforts of pajamas, there remains a social stigma against wearing them during the daylight hours. When you order pizza for your book club at 3pm on a Sunday and you still have your pajamas on, you are likely to get a strange look from the deliveryman. And beyond that, what will your friends think when you are trying to discuss Angelas Ashes while you are still wearing your PJs? Because of the unreasonable constraints of society, you are expected to get up and put pants on.

But how fair is that? After all, this is your day off. Shouldnt you be able to enjoy it in comfort? Well, finally there is a solution. At last, you can enjoy the comfort of pajamas all day long while still conforming to societal norms. This magical solution is called Pajama Jeans!

Pajama Jeans are a brilliant invention that look like jeans but feel like pajamas! The secret to the superior comfort of Pajama Jeans is the specially designed DormiSoft fabric. This wonderful material is a perfect blend of cotton and spandex. The spandex helps the pants fit like jeans and the cotton makes them feel as comfortable as pajamas.

Pajama Jeans What PJs Really Stands For

The key to the success of Pajama Jeans is their brilliant disguise. They are designed to look just like boot cut jeans. Pajama Jeans even have brass rivets and European Style high-contrast stitching in the same areas that normal jeans would have them.

But once again, the part that makes Pajama Jeans so smart and comfortable is the element of disguise. They look like jeans all right, but they certainly do not feel like them. They are as soft as normal cotton and while they have the visual elements of jeans, they dont have any of the blue jean features that would make them uncomfortable. That means no zippers or buttons to get in the way of your relaxation.

Convenient Uses for Pajama Jeans

Pajama Jeans look so realistically like normal jeans that there is really no limit to where you can wear them. Think of all the times in your life when you just want to be comfortable but cant quite bring yourself to break out the pajamas.

One perfect example is being on a long flight. On just about any airplane you board, you will see one or two brave souls who have decided to board the flight wearing their pajama bottoms. And as much as you understand where they are coming from, as much as you envy their comfort during the flight, you still think they look like a crazy person. Of course, the solution is simple. Just hit the friendly skies in a pair of pajama jeans, and you can handle even the longest flights in perfect comfort with no one being the wiser.

Pajama Jeans are also great for college students. Part of doing well in college is getting in good with your professors. You want to think that just doing your best work will guarantee a good grade, but the fact is that having a professor like you will probably help out your GPA even more. One way to get in your professors good graces is by showing up to class looking prepared and ready to learn.

But all too often, college kids will just roll right out of bed and head straight to class in their pajamas. This might save you an extra minute or two of getting ready if you are running late in the morning, but your classmates might not respect your take on postmodern literature quite as seriously when you are wearing your Spongebob pajamas. Once again, the solution is simply putting on a pair of Pajama Jeans.

We treasure our weekends because we work so hard from Monday through Friday at work. When Friday night comes around, we just want to put on something comfortable and relax for a few days. With Pajama Jeans, you can finally enjoy the superior comfort of pajamas while still looking stylish and ready to take on the world. Stop sacrificing fashion for comfort. Have it all with a pair of Pajama Jeans.

True Religion Jeans – How Do You Know If They’re Fake

True Religion Mens Jeans are some of the finest designer jeans to ever have graced the fashion world. They are made with very high quality denim, feature very interesting cuts and washes, and the level of detail and attention paid by the designers to the stitching has almost no rival. It is very easy to see why True Religion Jeans have become so popular and sought after – not just in America but all across the World.

The problem that True Religion faces is because the jeans are so popular and will usually carry a premium-rate price tag, criminals and organised crime gangs both domestic and foreign have a large financial incentive to show disdain towards the True Religion designers and genuine customers by copying the style of the jeans, reproducing a poor imitation of them and then selling these substandard products as authentic true religion products.

For people who are familiar with real True Religion clothing, it is very easy to spot fakes as the counterfeiters are prone to making mistakes when copying the finer details of the clothing. However, if a person has not seen a genuine article before, but they see a fake pair at a really good price they may not realise that it is counterfeit as they would not be used to the quality.

Luckily, criminals can be quite sloppy when creating counterfeits of articles of very detailed clothing. Owing to the consistent, high-quality finishes and details in the average pair of True Religion Mens Jeans, it is usually a simple task to determine the general authenticity of the item. For those of you who may be unfamiliar with these details, have a read through the following points as these attempts t explain them to you. Remember, above all else, if you ever have a ‘bad feeling’ about a seller, or your gut instincts warn you away from a particular item, ‘Leave it Alone!’

1)Back Pocket Flaps. The flaps on the rear of the pockets on these jeans are very particular and defined. The centre of the flap creates a very proud ‘V’ shape which then symmetrically curves back round on itself. The apex of the V lies directly above the valley point of the horse-shoe stitch and directly below the button-fastener of the pocket’s pouch.

2)Horse-shoe Stitch. This iconic stitch design has been with the brand since its beginning. The overall design of the horse-shoe is usually comprised of several independent threads, often of multiple colours, all of which follow the same loose pattern, although not identically. The important thing to look for here is that the overall stitching is symmetrical, lines up with the V and the button-fastener, and is definitely stitched and not printed.

3)Outline Stitch. The outline stitch of True Religion is very characteristic of the brand’s image. It really epitomises the detailing for which True Religion is adored for. The stitch follows the outline of all the seams, pockets, flaps and other fabric joints. The stitch is almost always doubled, usually a centimetre or two apart. The colour is the same throughout the garment and is very consistent in style and quality. If these are printed, have different colours or have inconsistent spacing then they are almost certainly counterfeit and not worth your time.

4)Inside Seams. The Stitching on the inside seams is a very bold and blazon over-lock stitch that is in the same colour as the detail stitch on the exterior of the jeans. They are very neat, visible and stand proud as part of the garment. Counterfeit items do not pay attention to this, and so the inside stitch is often very difficult to even find. The cuts around the sewing will be uneven, messy and rather crude. The colour will not inspire much admiration, embracing a cold, uninviting appearance in a fake item.

5)Inside Label. Older fakes will follow the same pattern with the inside label, although newer counterfeits ‘fix’ this. The inside tag should be very clearly printed; have the letters TRBJ stitched into the bottom in a tiny print; have the words ‘made in USA’ printed below ‘brand jeans’ and finally have the words ‘BRAND JEANS’ printed below ‘True Religion’. On older counterfeits the ‘J’ from ‘BRAND JEANS’ would often sit below the natural line of the rest of the phrase. On the genuine jeans (and some newer fakes) the J sits perfectly in line. On all of the print work, also take care to ensure that none of the wording appears smudged or distorted in any way. Genuine jeans are printed flawlessly.

It’s important to remember that the only way to guarantee that you receive the genuine True Religion Jeans is to ensure that you buy them new from an authorised, well-respected retailer. Outlets like eBay and Flea Markets are almost certain to be fake or imitation or otherwise substandard reproductions of the real thing. Take a look at the other brands the retailer is selling; are they selling True Religion alongside other high-end premium denims, or are they alongside discount brands? If it’s discount brands, the True Religions are probably not real.

Pay close attention to the neighbourhood the store is located in too. If it’s some backstreet down-market area, chances are that the True Religion brand would not allow their items to be sold there. If you’re shopping in an up-market busy metropolitan retail sector, it’s more likely that they are real.

Above all else, when looking for to buy True Religion, take heed of your gut feelings. If something just doesn’t feel right to you, then do not hand your cash over. If the item is not real, not only will you have lost a fair bit of money, you’ll also be left with a bad quality denim and the feeling that you’ll have sponsored a criminal enterprise.
